Many countries offer Citizenship, Residency or Immigration by Investment programs. However, all these programs have different rules and requirements that are subject to government regulations, regardless of their features or benefits, which is why investment programs can only be done through government-approved, authorized agencies.

Investors seeking second citizenship and passport, therefore, need to consult the right professionals when making an investment decision that could potentially impact them and their families for the rest of their lives.

Why is it important to use an authorized agent?

Not only do authorized agents understand the application process far better than non-authorized agents or affiliates, but they are also there to make sure investors select the right program that is suited to their financial or personal needs.

Authorized agents work closely with governments during the application process and continuously update and refine their systems and protocols to meet the requirements of the governments and to ensure all documentation and paperwork are in order.

It might be likely that more than one program will fit an investor’s needs. Having the services of an approved agent will help to outline each program in greater detail for an investor and narrow down the selection process.

What does the process involve?

Governments will collaborate with independent third-party Due Diligence Agents. They use a variety of publicly available information sources and intelligence to check the factual information of the applicant and everyone included in the application. These checks include verification of birth certificates at official institutions, media reports, verification of businesses and companies the applicant owns.

A third level check includes vetting the applicant by law enforcement agencies and INTERPOL to ensure a clean criminal history. Once the background checks have been completed, the government draws a decision based on the Due Diligence reports and will either grant or deny the application.

What will an authorized agent do?

Before selecting an investment program, an authorized agent will provide investors, seeking dual citizenship for themselves and their families, a breakdown of:

  • each program’s requirements
  • each program’s list of benefits
  • each program’s costs (this includes contribution costs, investment costs and any additional government fees payable upfront)

An authorized agent will also enquire as to the reasons behind investing in a Citizenship or Residency by Investment program. Is the investor seeking second citizenship and passport for a plan B? Do they want to be able to travel more freely to other countries visa-free? Or, do they wish to secure a better future for themselves and future generations to come? Whatever the reasons, the right authorized agent will assist in helping investors achieve their long-term goals.

St. Kitts & Nevis Authorized Agent

St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment program is the oldest program in the world and, to date, has become one of the most viable and affordable programs for investors. An authorized agent will work closely with the St. Kitts & Nevis government to ensure investors obtain their second citizenship and passport by either donating to the government fund, the SGF or by investing in real estate property.

  • The minimum contribution for the Sustainable Growth Fund (SGF) is $150,000 for a single applicant or $195,000 for a family of 4. But as of July 2020, the government has reduced the price of a family contribution to $150,000, valid only until January 15th 2021.
  • The minimum contribution for the real estate property is $400,000, which can only be sold after 5 years, or $200,000, which can only be sold after 7 years.
