In a letter written to Prime Minister Browne, the Canadian Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Browne for providing recent updates on the country’s Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP) and expressed an interest for Canadians to become more involved in the program.

“Canada takes the integrity of its border security, immigration and citizenship programs seriously. As such we continue to monitor global migration patterns and trends and we seek to ensure that countries offering citizenship by investment meet a high standard of program integrity, in particular those enjoying visa exemption to travel to Canada”, the letter indicated.

Prime Minister Trudeau also stated that he is very pleased that representatives from both countries have been in direct contact to discuss the CIP.

“It is important to continue these frank conversations so that Canada can understand what due diligence processes have been put in place. Again, we welcome any further updates about the improvement that you are making to the program”.
