The Portal das Renovações opened on February 16 and is now the exclusive channel for processing renewals under Portugal’s Golden Visa program.

In-person renewal submissions have been discontinued.

## How the Renewal Process Now Works

Under the new system, Golden Visa holders and their regrouped family members must complete the entire renewal request online.

Applicants are required to:

- Submit the renewal application through the portal
- Upload all supporting documentation digitally
- Pay applicable government fees through the system

Physical attendance is required only if biometric data needs to be updated.

If an applicant’s biometric records are invalid or outdated, AIMA will automatically schedule an appointment and notify the applicant of the date, time, and location.

Renewals cannot be finalized without biometric collection where required.
