The new Commonwealth of Dominica ambassador, the Honorable Hubert J. Charles, met with Savory & Partners at the Dubai office to discuss matters of interest linked to the opening of the new embassy in Abu Dhabi and General Consulate in Dubai. They discussed how the Dominican citizens living in Dubai and the region will benefit from the new embassy and consulate.

“High demand and interest from the UAE significantly contributed to the UAE-Dominica bilateral relations and the establishment of the Dominica Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Dominica Consulate General in Dubai”, said the ambassador.

The embassy will play a decisive role facilitating services such as passport delivery, passport renewals, NOC’s and authentication documents among others, for the increasing number of Dominica citizens residing in the UAE and the Middle East.

Indeed, many investors who obtained a Dominica passport and applied to the program while in Dubai have expressed their appreciation for the new embassy in the United Arab Emirates.

The new Embassy in Abu Dhabi will bring exclusive benefits to Dominica citizens residing in the UAE and the region.

Honourable Hubert J. Charles also noted Dubai Expo 2020 as a major marketing opportunity to promote the island nation and its Citizenship by Investment Program, which has been active since 1993.

“Dubai Expo 2020 is a great opportunity to market the program, and as embassy, we also want to encourage Dominican citizens in Dubai to participate in the activities that will take place in the embassy during the expo” — stated His Excellency Ambassador Hubert J. Charles.

“We have been very anxious to make sure that we are as supportive as possible with our citizens, not only as Government but also as citizens.”

“Throughout more than 20 years, the Government has remained firmly committed to the Program and has made consistent and substantive improvements to the quality of its offering”

Ambassador Hubert J. Charles said that apart from having a citizenship program focused on bringing investment into the island, they “want to maximize the engagement between the citizen and the country; either in investments, tourism, becoming more familiar with the country”.

“We want to encourage the importance for new investors to have a certain presence on the island; we want citizens who engage more with the country”, he added.

Dubai Expo 2020 will attract the interest of thousands of investors from all over the world in the Emirate of Dubai. It will be the perfect opportunity to showcase the program as one of the most reliable options to obtain second passport from the Caribbean; which leads to increased global mobility.
