In March 2016, the Honourable Alexandra Otway travelled to the dynamic city of Dubai to serve as the Keynote Speaker at the 2nd Investment Immigration Summit MENA. The Summit in March explored the ways in which Middle East and North Africa (MENA) high net worth individuals can seize the opportunities afforded by the best and most popular citizenship by investment programs to become global, freer individuals.

Minister Otway represented the Government of Grenada to promote the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Program. Recalling her past role as Minister for Tourism, Minister Otway discussed the gentle pleasures of her nation’s sandy beaches, the untamed beauty of the rainforests, and the charm of the colourful marinas. Drawing on her current role as Minister of Implementation, she made a compelling argument for investment in Grenada, pointing to the economic growth of her country, the rising number of tourists, and the new real estate developments rising softly above the coastline.

Real Estate Investment

Real estate was a key element of Minister Otway’s speech. Grenada – whose Citizenship by Investment Program has already driven investors to develop luxurious and environmentally conscious property on the island – is looking to expand its real estate propositions. Specifically, the Minister called for discerning entrepreneurs who can recognise Grenada’s potential and put forward innovative property projects. The Government of Grenada’s main concern remains at all times with its people, said the Minister, and impressive real estate developments such as hotels and villas will not only add to Grenada’s spectacular surroundings, but they will also generate new career opportunities for locals for generations to come.

Finally, the Honourable Minister noted that Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Program was one of the world’s most transparent and efficient programs, processing applications in three months or less. She also emphasised that the Program catered to large families, incentivising all family members to apply together by requiring reasonable supplementary investments in Grenada.

Delivering her speech with characteristic enthusiasm, Minister Otway left her audience infatuated with Grenada, the delights of life in her tri-island nation, and the advantages of its outstanding Citizenship by Investment Program.

Minister Otway also addressed Dubai’s top businesswomen, in a luncheon organised to celebrate International Women’s Day. The Honourable Minister commended the strides that had been made to achieve gender parity, and encouraged them to seize the business opportunities available to women across the globe, including in Grenada – a jurisdiction known for both advancing the cause of women, and supporting entrepreneurship.

The Honourable Minister was joined by Mr David Holukoff, Chairman of the Citizenship by Investment Committee that heads Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Programme, to participate in a number of meetings with potential investors organised by newly appointed International Marketing Agents Savory & Partners and CTrustGlobal.
