Each TER token represents fractional ownership of physical gold (0.01 grams, 999.9 purity) stored in audited vaults, according to official program disclosures.
The digital nomad visa:
Eligible applicants include remote workers, entrepreneurs, and professionals aligned with the city’s sustainability and innovation focus.
Visa holders may reside anywhere in Bhutan, including within Gelephu Mindfulness City.
The launch reflects Bhutan’s expanding blockchain strategy and digital asset integration efforts.
The country has publicly acknowledged state involvement in cryptocurrency mining initiatives and digital asset reserves as part of its broader economic planning.
The digital nomad visa positions Bhutan as the first jurisdiction to directly link residency eligibility to participation in a sovereign, gold-backed blockchain token framework.
