China is broadening its global travel connectivity through two major developments.
First, it has extended visa-free entry to 45 countries, adding Sweden to the list.
Second, India has reopened tourist visa services for Chinese nationals, signaling improving ties between the two countries.
Effective 10 November 2025, nationals of Sweden can enter mainland China without a visa for business, tourism, family visits, or transit, according to China’s immigration authorities.
The exemption will remain valid until 31 December 2026. In the same announcement, authorities extended visa-free entry for nationals of 45 countries.
In another development, India reopens global tourist visa access for Chinese nationals through all embassies and consulates worldwide.
The move follows the resumption of direct China–India flights in October 2025 after a five-year pause.
Chinese travel agencies report a gradual increase in demand for travel to India. However, experts note that simplifying visa procedures and improving safety standards will be key to attracting larger numbers of visitors.
