Kuwait Grants Tourist Visas on Arrival to GCC Residents

Kuwait now allows foreign residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to obtain a tourist visa on arrival, following a policy change announced on August 10, 2025.

The decision applies to any foreign national holding a valid residency permit from a GCC member state for at least six months. Eligible travelers can now receive a tourist visa directly at Kuwait’s ports of entry.

This measure took effect immediately and repeals a 2008 regulation that governed tourist entry for foreign residents of other GCC states.

According to the Interior Ministry, the update aims to simplify travel for expatriates in the region and align Kuwait’s entry policies with broader Gulf travel trends.
