Oman has launched a new Cultural Visa and Residence category, inviting artists, researchers, and creative professionals to live and work in the Sultanate.
The program opens a new pathway for global cultural and academic talent, supporting Oman’s broader vision to strengthen its creative industries and advance the national goals outlined under Oman Vision 2040.
The Cultural Visa is available for 1, 5, or 10 years, giving applicants the flexibility to establish long-term roots in Oman.
Eligible professionals include writers, poets, performers, designers, musicians, researchers, and other contributors to the cultural and creative sectors.
One of the key features of the program is family inclusion. Spouses and first-degree relatives can accompany the main applicant through a Cultural Joining Visa, allowing families to relocate and build their lives together in Oman.
The visa fees are accessible to encourage wider participation in the program.
Applicants must enter Oman within three months of visa issuance to activate their residency.
Applicants must secure a local sponsor from an accredited Omani cultural or academic institution. Sponsors can include government ministries, universities, recognized cultural centers, or festival organizers.
The sponsor confirms the applicant’s professional purpose and facilitates visa processing.
The Cultural Visa supports Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes cultural exchange and economic diversification.
By opening its doors to global creators and researchers, Oman aims to strengthen its position as a regional center for knowledge, innovation, and artistic collaboration.
The new program highlights Oman’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and creative growth, offering global professionals a welcoming environment to contribute to the country’s evolving cultural landscape.
