Oman Announces Golden Visa Program for Investors

Oman will launch a new “Golden Residency” visa program on August 31, 2025, offering long-term residency options to foreign investors.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, is designed to strengthen Oman’s position as a leading destination for international investment.

Applications for the Golden Residency can be submitted through the Invest Oman online platform.

Program Structure and Investment Thresholds

The Golden Visa program is available in two tiers.

Tier 1 – 10-Year Residency

Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Invest at least 500,000 OMR in a limited liability company, a public joint-stock company, or government bonds
  • Purchase property valued at 500,000 OMR or more
  • Establish a company employing at least 50 Omani nationals

The residency card under Tier 1 is valid for 10 years and requires a fee of 551 OMR.

Tier 2 – 5-Year Residency

Eligibility requires one of the following:

  • Invest at least 250,000 OMR in a limited liability company or a public joint-stock company
  • Purchase property valued at 250,000 OMR or more

Expatriates residing in Oman who wish to retire may also apply under this tier by providing proof of a fixed monthly income of at least 4,000 OMR.

The residency card under Tier 2 is valid for five years, renewable, with a fee of 326 OMR.
