Oman has introduced new property and residency reforms, allowing eligible foreign property owners to qualify for a sponsor-free residence permit.
The update makes property ownership more attractive for international buyers while expanding Oman’s long-term residency options.
Oman has opened its real estate market to foreign individuals, companies, and legal entities.
Foreign property owners can now apply for an Owner Residence Permit, which is:
The Owner Residence Permit may also include the property owner’s first-degree family members.
The permit remains valid as long as the applicant continues to own the qualifying property.
The new Owner permit has no minimum investment threshold specified.
This makes it separate from Oman’s existing Investor Residency program, which still offers longer-term options:
