Paraguay records a 50% increase in residency applications in 2025.The rise reflects growing international interest in relocating to the country.
In 2024, Paraguay received approximately 29,000 residency applications in total.
By October 2025, the number had already exceeded 38,000, surpassing the previous year’s total.
Final figures for 2025 are estimated at more than 43,000 applications, representing year-on-year growth of around 50%.
Data from the National Directorate of Migration show that Paraguay issued 36,263 residence permits in 2025, up from 28,464 in 2024.
Temporary residency remained the most requested category, and authorities noted increased interest from outside South America, especially from Europe and North America.
Local reporting attributes the rise to streamlined immigration procedures, comparatively low administrative requirements, and interest from internationally mobile individuals seeking relocation options.
