Sierra Leone’s GO-FOR-GOLD Citizenship Program has announced major structural changes following a six-month pilot that naturalized 13 families.
The expansion introduces one of the most inclusive family frameworks in the investment migration industry, allowing applicants to include extended relatives and business partners under a single citizenship application.
Applicants can now include multiple spouses, siblings under 30, spouses of siblings, adult children, and even last remaining relatives under a new “Special Dependants” category.
A separate “+1 Business Partner” option allows co-investors to join applications without proving a prior business relationship. However, business partners cannot include their own dependents.
Due Diligence Fees:
Program architects describe the reform as a strong economic initiative to attract 4,000 families over the next five years.
Sierra Leone’s expanded dependent criteria significantly reduces per-person costs and may increase market competitiveness against other African CBI programs, including Egypt, São Tomé and Príncipe, and forthcoming programs in Botswana and Namibia.
Funds will remain in escrow until due diligence clearance, and applicants can offset fees through gold bullion purchases of up to 20 kilograms over five years at a 2% discount to market rates, reinforcing the program’s gold-backed foundation.
