Spain has been ranked the best country in the world for digital nomads in 2025, according to the latest Global Digital Nomad Report by Global Citizen Solutions.
The country scored 99.67 out of 100, taking first place among 64 destinations assessed for visa options, taxation, lifestyle, and innovation.
The report confirms Spain’s position as a global leader in remote work, supported by its Digital Nomad Visa, high living standards, and strong connectivity infrastructure.
Introduced in 2023, Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa allows non-EU professionals to live and work in the country for up to five years.
The visa also offers a reduced 15% income tax rate under the so-called Beckham Law and provides a potential pathway to permanent residency and citizenship.
Remote workers benefit from excellent internet coverage, a growing network of coworking spaces, and easy access to Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
According to the report, the top 10 countries for digital nomads this year are:
Europe continues to lead the global digital nomad landscape, with Portugal, and Malta remaining strong contenders.
Latin America, however, is rapidly catching up with destinations like Uruguay and Mexico offering competitive tax incentives and lifestyle advantages.
