Steps to Hungary Residency

Step 1

Applicants must prepare and submit required paperwork, sign documents and make application fee payment.

Step 2

The Investment is authorised. The applicant must then transfer the full amount to the Residence Bond Agents deposit account. The Residence Bond Agent will provide an irrevocable declaration certifying that a treasury bond for a nominal value of the invested amount, with a five-year maturity, will be purchased from the funds received from the investor within 45 days of his/her residence permit being issued.

Step 3

All investment-related documents required for the application are issued as per the Hungarian government’s relevant legislation.

Step 4

The primary applicant and all qualifying family members visit the Hungarian embassy in the country in which they reside to submit their temporary residence permit applications.
2 – 3 weeks after the application has been submitted, the ID cards are ready for collection.

Step 5

The residency bond agent purchases the Investor Residency Bonds.
The applicant and family submit the application for Permanent Residency at the Hungarian embassy (six months after receiving the temporary residence permits).
Permanent resident cards are ready for collection (typically three months after submission of Permanent Residency application).

Step 6

A citizenship certificate and passport are issued in your name. The balance of the professional fees is then paid.
