St. Kitts and Nevis has so far succeeded, through its one-of-a-kind Citizenship by Investment Program, in positioning itself as a leader among its counterparts in terms of growth rates. It is the only country in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) with a near 5% projected growth in 2018, mainly driven in part by a robust construction sector and booming tourism industry.

Also St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program – the oldest and most trusted program in the industry – has recently racked up several awards which in turn have helped the country secure its position as the platinum brand of the industry.

Prime Minister Harris recently visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Hong Kong to promote the country’s CBI program. His visit was a success.

“From my meeting with more than 200 international marketing agents and their support teams and developers, I was assured that St. Kitts and Nevis’ CBI program is considered as the most reliable and it is now the most sought-after program.”

Moreover, the nation continues to outpace its OECS counterparts regarding ICT development. Not to mention that in the 2017 ICT Development Index, produced by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), St. Kitts and Nevis ranked 37th out of 176 countries worldwide, as it relates to developments in information and communication technology.

St. Kitts and Nevis was also evaluated as the least corrupt jurisdiction in the Caribbean region. The World Justice Project (WJP), Rule of Law Index 2017-2018, ranked the nation 25 out of 113 countries in the world. The WJP Rule of Law Index measures the countries’ rule of law performance across eight factors: constraints on government powers, an absence of corruption, open government, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice and criminal justice.

“They evaluated the government, evaluated the judiciary; thus, evaluated other sectors of the country and ranked our country among the least corrupt,” he said.

Since the continued growth and prosperity of the nation hinge on the safety and security of the people, the Team Unity administration has made substantial investments in the Ministry of National Security, including the opening of the brand-new forensic laboratory in Tabernacle.

“The peace, order, safety and security, and good governance are responsibilities [that] my Cabinet takes seriously,” Harris stated, adding that his administration has provided year-on-year increases in budgetary support to the Ministry of National Security in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
